The proposed repair and replacement of the roof and external paint works for two hostel blocks at IESR is a refurbishment initiative focused on upgrading structural and visual elements of the facilities. Valued at Ksh. 10,950,476.76, the project aims to restore the buildings to a higher standard of safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
The primary objective is to enhance the structural integrity and overall condition of the hostel blocks. By replacing worn roofing materials and applying fresh external paint, the project seeks to improve safety, protect the buildings from weather-related deterioration, and create a more appealing living environment for occupants.
The refurbishment works involve the removal of the current roofing materials and installation of new, long-lasting alternatives designed to withstand environmental conditions. In addition, the project includes detailed external painting of both blocks to improve appearance and offer protective coating against the elements. These combined upgrades aim to extend the buildings’ lifespan and improve their functionality.
The works are scheduled to be completed within twenty-six weeks from the commencement date. This timeframe ensures that the upgrades are delivered efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship throughout the process.
Once completed, the refurbished hostel blocks will offer safer, more durable, and visually improved accommodation. The enhanced roofing and fresh paintwork will contribute to better protection of the structures, greater comfort for users, and an overall uplift of the facility’s environment.
